First Day Back to Work
So yesterday was my first day back at work after 11 wonderful weeks off with Brody. I definitely didnt know how much i would miss him! i worked a 12 hour day yesterday...so this was definitely the longest i have been without him. I am so glad that my job is very busy..i dont know what i would do if i was just sitting around at a desk all day. I think it would be much harder! i dont have time to think about anything else at work really. when i got home, i held brody for about 4 hours straight! im definitely going to miss him alot when im at work, but i am SO thankful that my mom is taking care of him! theres no way i could leave him with a stranger....i know with my mom that he is in the best hands besides mine. I am also so thankful for the time we have been living with mom and dad. Mom knows brody almost as well as i do because hes been in her house since the day he came home from the hospital. she knows what is normal for him and what is not...it makes me feel 100% confident that he wont need anything while im away from him!

2 month checkup
Today we finally made it in for his 2 month checkup. He was supposed to have it 2 weeks ago, but he was in the hospital with RSV on the day that he turned 2 months old. The pediatrician wanted us to wait until he was completely well before he had his vaccines. Today he had his vaccines done...poor baby. He was also weighed and measured. He weighed in at a wopping 14 lbs 9 oz. making him in the 90 percentile for weight. and he measured 25 inches long making him in the 97 percentile for heighth! His head measured 44 cm (70 percentile). So all that means is hes a big boy:) Thankfully his height and weight are proportionate :)

First Trip to the ER
Its been a rough 24 hours...thats for sure. Last night brody was getting more and more congested and as you know, at this age they cant take medication. so pretty much your stuck to home remedies to help them. We were suctioning his nose, beating on his back trying to loosen him up, standing over boiling water to try to break up the congestion...and nothing was helping. Finally about 11:00 last night he was getting to the point that his lungs were caving in, because he was trying so hard to breathe... so we took him to the ER. After a few breathing treatments and getting his nose suctioned out with a high power suction, he really wasnt any better, so they decided to admit him to the hospital. They monitored his breathing all day and kept a close eye on his oxygen levels. He apparently has a virus called RSV...and he wasnt the only baby at the hospital with that virus. its pretty common at this time of year, but babies have a REALLY hard time with it because they cant breathe through their mouths like we can, so when their nose gets clogged up, they feel like they are suffocating. Anyways, the virus normally lasts at least 2 weeks so hes definitely not out of the woods yet. they told us just to bring him back to the ER if he has anymore trouble. so we are home now and hes doing pretty good. Its pretty pitiful to see your little baby in a hospital room hooked up to all sorts of machines.....but he did look really cute in his miniature hospital gown:)

First Cold:(
my poor baby has his first cold:( its so pitiful! Brian has it too...we tried to keep him away from daddy as much as possible, but he got it anyway.we took him to the doctor yesterday to make sure he was ok. his lungs are clear and he doesnt have an ear infection, so thats good! hopefully it wont last long! there is something SO sad about hearing your little baby cough.
