"No-No"
Brody is getting told "no" alot these days....thankfully he usually listens and stops what he is doing when i tell him no! hes such a great little boy:) He is also talking more and more and is attempting alot more words....they NEVER sound like what they are supposed to, but when you ask him to repeat something, he usually tries. hes definitely developing his vocabulary. anyways, there are of course certain things he gets told "no" repeatedly about....like throwing his sippy cup on the floor(which normally splatters milk). This week i DROPPED his sippy cup by accident and he, very seriously shook his finger at me and said "no-no". i about fell on the floor i was laughing so hard! especially since i have never heard him say "no-no" before....and he even shook his finger at me!:) hey...at least i know that he realizes dropping the cup on the floor is wrong!!:)

First Haircut
Brian finally caved....he let Brody get his first haircut. ive been ready to get his haircut for a couple of months now. his little curls were VERY cute...but his hair was starting to get in his eyes and fall over his ears. i was ready for a cute little boy haircut:) brian has not even entertained the idea....he was convinced that the minute we cut his hair, he would no longer be a baby! well we all know that brody has not been a baby for awhile now:) Meme cut his hair this weekend (i will have to post pics later) and it looks SO cute! he did pretty good for it...not great...but i cant remember the last time brody has sat still for anything!

Snow Day
FINALLY....a decent snow in raleigh! i feel like its been years since weve had enough snow to really enjoy:) i couldnt wait to get brody out in it and play! he had a blast!! wrestling with riley, sledding, etc....he loved every minute of it! when he looked out the window for the first time that morning, his little face looked like he was saying "what did you do to my yard!". we played in it for quite a while in the morning and then my mom and dad came over in the afternoon...because heaven forbid they miss any of brody's "firsts"!!:) dad brought a sled over and we sledded down the hill i cant even count how many times. when we would get to the bottom, brody would say "more" and do his sign language for "please" (and that is VERY hard to say no to). it was great getting to have brian off for a few days...brody missed not having him home once he had to go back to work. it was a wonderful couple of days!

Little Man

Parker and Lindsey got married a couple weekends ago. Since Brian was actually doing the wedding and I was in it, we chose to leave Brody with Brian's mom. It was so nice to be able to have fun for the weekend, staying out late, going to hockey games, and then the wedding and reception... It's not like we can't have fun with Brody, but he is just so busy these days. We wouldn't have been able to sit down for five minutes. He's into everything! Brian's mom and dad kept him at their house in Richmond and then Meme brought Brody down the day of the wedding so he could get some pictures. Since wedding stuff consumed our entire week, I didn't have time to go out and get Brody an outfit for the wedding. Brian's mom was so nice to go find the perfect outfit for Brody. I couldn't believe my eyes when she brought him into the church and I saw him in his little suit jacket! He's a little boy now! I think babyland is gone... Here's a few pictures.

Uh-oh
so most of brody's words consist of the same syllable twice (mama, dada, rye-rye, etc). when he says Uh-oh, it comes out more like Uh-Uh.....but this week he figured out how to put 2 different syllables together. So now its "uh-oh"...but he raises his voice in the cutest way putting emphasis on the 'oh'...you just have to hear it!

Brody's first 'real' christmas

so last christmas i had an infant...christmas was pretty much a blur because i was not getting any sleep and we were "homeless":) we didnt have a house to decorate or enjoy during the holidays. This christmas we are in our beautiful new home and have a toddler...a big difference! i remember saying last year, "next year we will have a toddler running around pulling ornaments off the tree and getting into all of the christmas decorations...while some of that is true, he has done much better than i thought! he has a grasp of the word "no" and has gotten his hand popped quite a few times for messing with the ornaments, but all in all he hasnt turned our christmas upside down like i thought he would!:) hes been REALLY good about the tree...much to my surprise! and we didnt have to NOT put any decorations out or take the bottom ornaments off the tree due to our toddler!
i wasnt sure what to expect from brody this year...i didnt know if he would be excited about his new things, or if hed even realize there was anything special about christmas day. we went upstairs to get him when he woke up and brian went downstairs with the video camera to tape "his reaction" to his new things when he came down the stairs with me. i honestly didnt think that he would do much.. i thought video taping was a little overboard for this year, but i let brian have his fun. much to my surprise when we came downstairs and he saw his new toolbench and all of the tools his whole face lit up! just like you would want your sons face to look on his first real christmas:) it was too cute! i put him down and he ran over to it and started banging around on it with all of the tools. and when we started letting him unwrap gifts, he was all into that too! he would unwrap one, get all excited, and then go for the next one. It was a great christmas...much more eventful than i really expected:)
