A few things about our 1 year old...

Levi is ONE!! Its hard to imagine our life just one year ago, without 2 kids. Levi is such a joy and has a smile that will melt anyone's heart. He is a momma's boy, without a doubt and does not like me to leave his sight! He would rather be carried around all day long. He is my snuggler and my kisser. He's still not walking by himself (he can walk holding your hand) and really shows no interest in it, but hes been crawling for almost 5 months now, so hes pretty fast! You will usually find him pushing a car around whenever he is crawling. Im pretty sure he loves his big brother more than anyone. He smothers Brody in kisses any chance he can get. He cannot wait for his daddy to get home each day. The minute he hears the door open, he yells "DADA!!" and crawls as fast as he can over to the door. He can say, Dada Mama Bubba(Brody) and Nonna. Hes very selective when he uses those words, but he will carry on a whole conversation with you with his babbling:) I cannot say in words how seriously sweet this child is. Its hard to not smile when you think about him:) Your family adores you, Levi!! Happy first birthday, sweet boy!

More pictures and a blogpost to come about his party!

Levi's Party

We had such a fun day celebrating Levi's first birthday with a Barnyard Bash! Complete with barbecue for lunch, cow print balloons, baby chicks, and of course, Zoe:) It was a wonderful day with family and friends. Levi immediately dug into his cake and was covered in icing.

End of Summer

I feel like Labor Day weekend is always signaling the end of summer. We always take one more beach trip and enjoy the sand and the waves for one last time. Brody, Levi, and I went down to the beach house for a long weekend and sadly left Brian behind at home. He is working on building a new barn and felt like this would be a good weekend to get some things done around the farm. So the boys and i headed to the beach with my parents and grandparents. It was a perfect weekend! The boys enjoyed the beach more than they ever have before! Levi decided that the sand was actually fun this time and finally figured out that it was not for eating:) Its amazing what a difference 2 months makes! Levi hated the beach when we were there over the 4th of july! This time he crawled straight out to the waves, had no fear, and loved the sand! Brody has always loved the ocean, but this weekend he was diving into the waves and letting them roll him all around! He would have stayed in the ocean all day! Brody also spent a lot of time kayaking with mom and dad. He would sit up in the front of the kayak with mom, and both days they kayaked for over 2 hours. The whole time we were there, the dolphins were so active! They were outside our house almost constantly. In the mornings, when Levi and i were awake before everyone else, we would go out on the porch and watch and listen for them. You could hear them blowing and see them coming up out of the water. One day, Brody and my parents got in the kayaks and when out to see them. The dolphins were literally coming up 5-10 feet away from them! and were jumping up out of the water! It was amazing and something Brody will remember for a long time Im sure! When it was time to leave the beach house, Brody was so sad. He didn't say a word in the car for almost 15 minutes, and then quietly said "Im sad:( I was having so much fun at the beach. I didnt want to leave!". It was such a fun weekend!

10 months!

Why do we always seem suprised when our babies turn another month older? Time goes by so fast....but at the same time, i cannot remember what life was like with just Brody! Having 2 kids was an adjustment, but i honestly think i prepared myself for much worse! It was not as bad as i thought, mostly thanks to Levi and what a good baby he was:) I am sitting here watching Brody and Levi play together, REALLY play together! giggling and laughing:) They really do entertain each other. Levi gets so fussy and bored when Brody isnt around! Brody is an AMAZING big brother. Levi is so lucky to have him. I am positive there isnt anything Brody could do to make him a better big brother. OK, now all about Levi.....
*Crawling a mile a minute. Hes been crawling since 7 1/2 months and is still no where near walking.
*Pulling up on everything
*Waves Bye Bye. He has said Bye bye a few times while waving:)
*Says Dada, Mama, and Nonna all of the time! Im beginnning to think he knows what they mean
*Has a smile and giggle that just makes you melt
*Loves his big brother more than anything
*Eats 3 meals a day with some finger foods and drinks 3 bottles a day (I am officially done nursing, but he will continue to have breastmilk until he is 1 year because of all of it i have saved up in my freezer:)
*He eats anything you put in his mouth...hes definitely not picky
*Loves the water and loves to splash!
*Loves to sit on his knees and it is just about the cutest thing ever:)
*Loves to wrestle his big brother
*Becoming quite the Momma's boy....and i dont really mind:)

We love you, Levi! Thank you for all the joy and sweetness you bring to us daily!

No Paci!

Well my little boy is all grown up....we are on night #5 without pacis! I know, I know....hes 3 1/2! Whats taken so long, you ask? He's never been attached to a blankie or stuffed animal, just his pacis. He loves them....He never would whine or fuss about naps or bedtime, because he knew his pacis were in his bed (we confined them to just the bed a long time ago). He has always held one in his hand and had the other one in his mouth. On Friday night, we lost one of them. I have no idea where it went. So I told Brody that he was going to have to sleep with just ONE paci that night. He said, "Well, lastday I didnt sleep with any pacis!" Translation: One time, I slept without my pacis! which i have no idea what he is talking about, because he has ALWAYS slept with them. So i jokingly said, "well give me the other one then!" And he handed it to me! I walked out of the room and said goodnight and Brian and i stood outside of his room and placed bets on how many seconds it would be before he called me in there to give him his paci. We waited for a few minutes and he did call me in there, but he never once asked for his paci, he just asked me to lay down with him. He went right to sleep! So the next morning i walked into his room cheering and yelling and he looked so proud of himself! I put candles in his breakfast that morning and sang "Happy No-Paci Day to you". Every morning we have added a candle to his breakfast and we told him that if he goes to whole week without pacis we will reward him at the end!
