Cancun Vacation

We had planned to go on a nice vacation for our 10 year anniversary....but our anniversary happened in between trips to Ethiopia to adopt Aven. So this year, we finally took that trip back to Cancun where we went on our honeymoon 12.5 years ago.  Andy and Sara planned the trip with us and we left all 6 kids behind with the grandparents! We stayed at the Melia Paradisus Cancun Resort and it was 5 of the best days of my life! We were waited on hand and foot. We had a personal butler. We ate anything and everything we wanted. We stayed in the part of the resort where no children were allowed, so we had a private beach, pool, lobby, and restaurants with only adults. It was so peaceful:) We definitely came home spoiled! 

Baseball Season

This kid couldn't be more excited about his first baseball season!

He is all business when it comes to being out on the field! He got his uniform last night and came downstairs with it on this morning:)

We had our second annual Easter Egg Hunt at the farm for the kids of Exchange 

And we also participated in the Rolesville Easter Egg Hunt.

Spring Days

Reading

During Christmas break, Brody was beginning to act board, so Brian picked up a Boxcar Children book and told him to start reading it. Brody was hooked...He couldn't put it down. We gave him the first 12 books last Christmas (for me to read to him). Brian promised Brody a pocket knife if he completed the books, thinking it would take him awhile since these are 3rd grade reading level! We got him a reading light for his bed and some nights he will stay up until 10:30 reading (perks of homeschool). He finished all 12 books in 3 months:) We are so proud of him! 

Dad's Retirement

After 36 years with General Mills, my daddy is retired! His company held a dinner in his honor at the Angus Barn. We are so proud of you, Dad!
