Memorial Day

Memorial Day at the beach house is kind of what kicks off summer for me. It doesnt quite feel like summer yet, until we go to topsail for the first time. I grew up spending my summers at the beach house. i LOVE it. It brings back so many memories of my childhood....and now my KIDS are there spending their summers:) We had a great time as always with my family. Brody loved the beach more than ever this year! It took all of us to keep up with him. He would have spent all day on the beach and he loved swimming in the sound. We have a nice swimming area at our house that he spent alot of time in. He started out in a life jacket, but by the end of the weekend he was swimming with just his swimmies. I can tell a huge difference in him since he had swim lessons. He is so much more comfortable in the water this year and has no fear of the waves! Levi on the other hand was not as big a fan of the beach....he preferred his little pool:) He was ok on the beach for a few minutes, but as soon as he got sandy he was not happy. He kept putting sand in his mouth too.....you would think after one mouthful of sand he would realize that it didnt taste good, but no, he continued to eat it:) He did, however, take a nice evening nap on the beach snuggling with me under the umbrella.....which was pure heaven for me. I had deja vu so many times while we were there.....Levi reminded me SO much of brody.....wearing the same clothes and sitting in the same little pool....it just brought me back 3 years! heres some pictures comparing my 2 boys. i purposely took pictures of Levi in the same outfits that i knew i had pictures of Brody in so i could compare them:) Do you think they look alike?

Its really funny to me how alike they look in these pictures. Especially since everyone says Brody is the spitting image of Brian and anyone who knows my dad says Levi looks like him. I guess subtle differences can really make a difference!
